What to expect in kavos

As Corfu’s clubbing capital, Kavos is famous for pulling in crowds of revellers. With plenty of nightlife for you to get your teeth sunk into, there’s also a secret beach to explore, authentic Greek food and 12 hours of sunshine a day. What’s not to love?

With an amazing range of bars and clubs, including an Ice Bar and an insanely popular foam-pool party hybrid, there’s always something going on. What are the wages like in kavos?

The wages in Kavos average between €30-50, this is absolutely plenty when you consider that a bottle of beer will set you back €2.50, a vodka coke will be around €3 and Kavos measures are generous!

Bear in mind - this doesn’t include tips and commission, so if you’re willing to put in a good shift you can always expect to have extra cash.


How many hours a day will I be working in kavos?

Hours and shifts for working in Kavos will vary depending on your job of choice. Ticket sellers can expect to be out enhancing their tan on the job, whilst bar workers will obviously start later. The average shift is between 4-6 hours, this leaves you with plenty of free time to visit the waterpark, lounge by the beach, or head out on a boat trip.

What type of people get jobs in kavos?

If you like partying and watersports, this is the resort for you. Temperatures are hot in peak season, so it helps if you’re a sun worshipper. Jobs in Kavos are ideal for a first season, it’s easy to get around and it’ll feel like home in no time.

Most of our guests travel solo, so don’t worry about being the odd one out. We have a private Facebook group where you can connect with other guests before you get out there. We also have our own social network, SummerSphere, where you can get chatting to people before you go.


What type of jobs are available in kavos?

If you’re looking for jobs in Kavos, it’s best to find one that suits your personality. If you’re a night owl, bar work is definitely the role for you. If you prefer to be out and about getting your tan on during the day, ticket selling lets you hit the streets and get chatting to new people. There are also a range of specialist jobs like dancing, fire-breathing and body painting if you’ve got the skills. When is the best time to go to kavos?

Our dates run from May to July, but there’s nothing stopping you from staying on for the closing parties! Our reps can help you to find further accommodation if you do. A lot of our guests head out to Kavos before the season begins to get their bearings before the parties start.


How do I find jobs in kavos?

Finding jobs in Kavos is really easy - there’s always a shift to be put in. The Summer Takeover reps can help you find a job at the start of your trip, so you’re set up for the rest of the month.

Our staff know all of the best bars, clubs, restaurants and events who will be taking on staff for the season. They know when the recruitment days take place and can set up trial shifts on your behalf.

This is our first year in Kavos - and our reputation with employers has preceded us. Thanks to our strict application process they’re well aware that we don’t take on just anyone to work abroad, and we know what you can expect from them in return.


What happens when I arrive in kavos?

The Summer Takeover reps will meet you at the hotel to start your working holiday experience. The following week will include welcome meetings, bar crawls and sightseeing with your new friends, the perfect way to get settled into the Kavos lifestyle.

We’ll begin proceedings with a good old knees up - you can get to know your fellow workers and plan anything special you want to do in the welcome week. Between Atlantis, Futures and Limelights we’ll help you suss out your favourite spots, and when you’re ready to shake the hangover there’s plenty of beautiful scenery to explore.

At the end of the week, our reps will set you up on some trial shifts to find the perfect job for you. It shouldn’t take long and hopefully you’ll have a job by the end of the day. Now to commence your Summer Takeover working holiday!


What happens after my first month with Summer Takeover?

After the initial 28 days you’ll have the option to extend your stay in our accommodation at a discounted rate, or our devoted reps can assist in finding alternative accommodation.

Visas & Work Permits

If you are an EU national and/or hold a passport issued in an EU country you will likely not need to concern yourself with a work permit/visa however we would always advise you to check this prior to travel. If you are unsure of your right to work or have any questions about the process, please reach out to us.
