Everything you need to know about working in Ibiza summer 2020.
If you’ve visited Ibiza before, you’ll know exactly what we mean when we say it’s magical. A beautiful island that’s been home to some of the best parties the world has ever seen, a completely unique location that appeals to everyone from budget travellers to A-list celebrities.
Free spirits, socialites, and soul searchers are all welcome. The beauty of working a season means you’ll have time to experience everything Ibiza has to offer, including world famous pool parties, daytime festivals, and the breath-taking sunset of Café Mambo.
The current rules state that you do not need a visa for jobs in Ibiza if you are an EU citizen. If you are not an EU citizen and your country is outside of the European Union, then you do need a visa. People from the United States, Canada, Australia and the rest of the world usually need a visa to do any work on the island.
Our guests have to be 18 years old to work full-time in Ibiza, whether or not you’re an EU citizen. This makes sense when you think that a lot of the jobs going are in locations which serve alcohol.
Most of our guests are around this age so it’ll be all too easy for you to find like-minded people to make friends with during your stay.
As our most expensive resort to live in, this is reflected by the wages in Ibiza. In peak season you can earn more than €100 per day, work hard and you’ll be rewarded. Much better than picking up shifts in the local pub, no?
The average wage hovers at around €50 per shift - this is a great basic when you consider the potential of tips and commission on top... Time to turn the charm on then!
This was my second year with summer takeover and as normal there was no disappointment in it!
Best experience I’ve ever had, everyone makes you feel at home and as your one big family
Summer takeover is not one to miss out on! Met some great people who have become friends for life and had some unreal moments when I was away with the company! I'll be looking to do it all over again.
I went on the 16th of may, was a bit quiet at the start but couple weeks later it got rammed with workers and tourist's. I Had the privilege to work for tidal for the season it was insane. Met so many great people and i have life long friends from it, defiantly doing it again next season. Peace
Just finished my second year abroad with Summer Takeover and they’ve made it just as amazing as the last!
This was definitely a summer to remember. Summer takeover were a massive help on the job front and great people who you could speak to whether you just wanted a chat or if you had a problem. Very friendly and would recommend anyone who want to go out and work through ST. They provided me a job on Tidal as a VIP host and it was hands down the best job on the island, making friends for life.
Where to start? Absolutely tip top service from ST and Nathan the rep was mega helpful
I went with summer takeover and felt so welcomed any troubles or worry’s I had I felt very comfortable going to Dan and Jordan, they also helped me find a job which they made very easy within the first week and most importantly showed us the best time! Deffo recommended.
If you are thinking of going abroad to work look no further than summer takeover.
No regrets! I had the best summer; with the best people.100% recommend and would use summer takeover again!

Cost of living is reasonable in Ibiza and you will find that the minimum wage is enough for your monthly allowances. Also, Summer Takeover will help with the funding of your social life. We offer our guests a whole range of generous discounts, such as wristbands for free or cheaper entry to clubs, or your name on the guestlist.
Our helpful staff can also recommend the best bars and restaurants for you to visit which offer cheap deals. You’ll find that a lot of the main tourist bars have higher prices, but with our suggestions of the more local hangouts, you’ll find that the prices are much lower.
Working in Ibiza is different from practically anywhere else in the world. The island has a long history of being a place where people go to party and relax. The music, dancing, beaches and sunsets make it a special place indeed.
The great part about working in Ibiza is that it’s suitable for all personality types. A lot of the time you’ll be working with other people, so an open mind and a willingness to meet new friends is always ideal.
Having the confidence to talk with strangers is great, but a working holiday is Ibiza is also a fab way to build these skills. A job in a bar, for example, is perfect for people who often feel a little shy to come out of their comfort zone and get chatting to people. Everyone on the party scene in Ibiza is warm, friendly, and very used to welcoming new guests, so you’ll never have a problem making friends and fitting in.

The majority of jobs available in Ibiza are in the hospitality sector, eg. bars, clubs, restaurants. Bar work is very popular with our guests, as it’s such a great way to meet new friends.
You don’t need bar experience to get a bar job in Ibiza, as most places will train you up when you get there. All you need is an open mind and a hard-working attitude. You’ll be serving drinks and chatting with other party-goers, adding to the experience of their holiday whilst also enjoying yourself.
“The Season” in Ibiza refers to the most popular time of the year for tourists on the island. We start bringing our guests at the beginning of May, just as the season is kicking off. This gives you more of an opportunity to find the best job for you and meet new friends just as they are arriving too. Ibiza gets busier throughout the rest of the season, from May right through to September.
