What to expect in magaluf

Magaluf is known as one of the wildest clubbing destinations in Europe - the perfect destination for your working holiday. The bright neon lights, thumping music and ever-flowing cocktails make for a great time in the evenings and the white beaches and crystal clear waters are the perfect remedy the next day.

Magaluf is only a two hour flight away from the UK, making it a less expensive trip than other destinations. You can save pennies elsewhere too, with cheap drinks deals and reasonable restaurant prices.

WHAT TYPE OF PEOPLE GET JOBS IN magaluf?

Typical Magaluf workers love the sun (temperatures can hit 30 degrees in the height of summer. The age range for jobs in Magaluf starts at 17, which is good to bear in mind if it’s your first time working abroad!

The majority of Summer Takeover guests travel solo, so if you’re nervous about heading out on your own, don’t panic! Once you’ve secured your place, you’ll be added into a private Facebook group and given login details for our workers’ social network, SummerSphere, so you can get chatting to all the other guests before you go.


WHAT TYPE OF JOBS ARE AVAILABLE IN magaluf?

Most jobs available in Magaluf will revolve around the nightlife, such as bar work, restaurant work and ticket selling for Magaluf’s biggest events companies. If you have a big personality, selling shots or balloons is a great way to make some decent commission. Bar work can guarantee a steady wage and it means you can be right at the centre of the party - a stop along the infamous bar crawls! When is the best time to go to magaluf?

Our dates run from May to June, but you can stay on for the closing parties - we’ll help you secure further accommodation when you’re out there. If it’s your first time working abroad, we recommend going out earlier - it’s easier to get your bearings when it’s a little quieter than to jump in at the deep end mid season!

What are the wages like in magaluf?

One of the reasons Magaluf is such a popular resort for working holidays is because the wages in Magaluf are so high - it’s our best paying location. Average wages can be anything around €75 per day and that’s not including your tips or commission.

In peak season, the right roles will easily take home over €100 per shift - with such cheap drink prices you won’t know what to do with all your money!


How many hours a day will I be working in magaluf?

Hours and shifts will vary depending on your job of choice when working in Magaluf. Ticket selling usually takes place during the day - preparing the revellers for the night ahead whilst also enhancing your tan. Bar work obviously starts later, leaving your days free to lounge by the pool or explore Magaluf. The average shift is between 4-6 hours, which leaves you with plenty of free time to explore Magaluf’s amazing attractions, such as the Hotel BH Mallorca Waterpark, try your hand at karting or mini golf, and laze around on the beautiful beaches.

Visas & Work Permits

If you are an EU national and/or hold a passport issued in an EU country you will likely not need to concern yourself with a work permit/visa however we would always advise you to check this prior to travel.
