What to expect in Tenerife

As the largest of the seven Canary islands, Tenerife is known for it’s volcanic landscape and vibrant nightlife. You’ll even have the chance to spot whales and dolphins if you care to partake in the many sightseeing opportunities!

The buzz of Veronicas Strip makes Tenerife an ideal party resort, with more bars and clubs than you’ll know what to do with! You definitely need a full season to experience everything Tenerife has to offer, and the number of tourists that this epic location draws makes for an ideal location to find your dream job with Summer Takeover.

What type of people get jobs in Tenerife?

If you want a smaller resort with plenty of variety then jobs in Tenerife are ideal. The bars are all within walking distance of one another, and there’s so much to do during the day. With so many local businesses, workers will always be in high demand so you’ll have plenty of options to choose from!

The majority of Summer Takeover guests travel solo, so if you’re nervous about heading out on your own don’t panic! Once you’ve secured your place you’ll be added into a private Facebook group, and given login details for our very own workers social network, SummerSphere, so you can get chatting to all the other guests before you go

When is the best time to go to Tenerife?

Our dates run from May to July, but you can stay on for the closing parties - we’ll help you secure further accommodation when you’re out there. If it’s your first time working abroad, we recommend going out earlier, it’s easier to get your bearings when it’s a little quieter than to jump in at the deep end mid season!

What are the wages like in Tenerife?

Wages in Tenerife average between €30-50, this is absolutely plenty when you consider that a bottle of beer will set you back €2 during the day, and around €4 in night time venues. As with all European resorts, spirit measures are generous so your money will stretch much, much further than it will at home!

Bear in mind - this doesn’t include tips and commission, so turn up the charm and you’ll have more money than you know what to do with...

How many hours a day will I be working in Tenerife?

Hours and shifts will vary depending on your job of choice for working in Tenerife. Ticket sellers can expect to be out enhancing their tan on the job, whilst bar workers will obviously start later. The average shift is between 4-6 hours, this leaves you plenty of time to visit the incredible volcanoes, go for a day trip to the theme park, or even try your hand at scuba diving!

As the pay is so good and the shifts are so short, most of our Summer Takeover crew work every day to maximise their earnings. See our jobs tab for more information. Work hard, play harder...
