Can I Go On My Own?

New people, new opportunities, and plenty of fun along the way...

The beauty of working abroad with Summer Takeover is that most of our guests travel solo. It might seem like a daunting prospect at first, but it’s one of the best decisions you can make. Here’s why...

Find your new crew

Do you know how much easier it is to meet new people when you’re on your own? You are much more approachable when it’s just you, and the majority of our guests will be in exactly the same position. We’ve gone one step further and created our own social network, Summersphere, and private Facebook groups so you can get chatting to other workers that have secured their place before you go. You’ll feel like you’ve known them for years!

Leave the drama

Starting fresh with a new group of people is one of the most exciting things about working abroad. New people, new opportunities, and plenty of fun along the way...

Discover a new side to yourself

There isn’t much more empowering than being able to say “I did that on my own”. When you push yourself into an unfamiliar situation you never really know how you’re going to react, and you might just surprise yourself.

Maybe you’re the shy one at home - nobody knows you out in the resort. Wallflowers only need one chance to flourish, and that might just be a plane ride away...

Tips for travelling solo:

Make the most of our private Facebook groups and get chatting to other workers before you go.

Make friends on the move - chances are there’s another Summer Takeover worker arriving in the airport at the same time asyou. It’s your job to find them (and share a taxi to the resort!)...

Bring a deck of cards. Drinking games = an instant ice-breaker

Ask loads of questions - it’s the quickest way to get to know someone!
