Your space is secured for the working holiday of a lifetime, and you’re wondering what happens now. Don’t worry, we’ve got the rundown on everything you need to do before jetting off to your resort of choice…
Time to sort out the finer details! By now, you should be well on your way to paying off the remaining balance, if you haven’t already done so. After that, make sure you have the following on lockdown;
Flights
We recommend booking a one way flight, as chances are you’re going to want to stay on. Leaving this open ended means you can come home as early or as late as you like. Look out for emails from Flight Centre, or log onto SkyScanner and register for price alerts – if you see a good deal get it booked!
Travel insurance
One of the most important things, and it’ll mean your poor mum sleeps easier at night, you’ll want to get an insurance package that covers you for an extended stay. I’ve always used Axa or The Post Office in the past – you should be able to pick this up for about £15-20.
Transfers
Based on personal preference I would always, always recommend finding someone that’s arriving at roughly the same time as you and splitting a taxi with them. Transfers are all well and good but they’ll stop at literally every hotel en route, and that’s vital time that could have been spent with a sangria at the hotel bar…
Spending money
Wages are brilliant in all our resorts, and you’ll be paid cash weekly which means it’ll be easy enough to budget, but we recommend bringing a minimum of around £400 just to be on the safe side. You might return home with this, but having a little extra means you don’t have to worry about missing out on anything because you’ve spent all of last weeks wage packet on balloons last night (it happens…)
Beach Bod
The countdown is on until you’re strutting your stuff on the beach, so if you’re thinking about starting up a gym routine, there’s no time like the present! In Summer Takeover HQ the healthy eating regimes have already begun, and some serious hours have been put in at the gym. It won’t be long until we’re scouring ASOS for the all important holiday wardrobes, and it’ll feel like no time before the suitcases are being dragged out of the loft.
Exfoliate, make sure the waxing appointments are booked (probably best to make sure you’ve left at least 24 hours between the salon and hitting the beach, unless you like the red look), and make sure you get in for a hair cut – you’ll definitely not have time to sort out your dead ends when you’re partying in resort…
Roommates
Make sure you’re taking advantage of the private Facebook groups and SummerSphere to speak to fellow Summer Takeover Crew Members – now is the perfect time to get to know one another so you can scope out who you want to share with.
Summer Takeover guests can now allocate themselves to rooms on their account – giving you complete control over your crew. Pick your squad wisely, you’ll be getting to know them very well this summer…
