What to expect in Magaluf

Magaluf conjures memories of neon lights, fishbowl cocktails and lazy days spent by the beach to anyone that’s visited before. There’s almost a carnival like atmosphere to the place - dressing up is encouraged, the brighter the better. Known for being the wildest clubbing destination in Europe, you’d be mad if you didn’t make this your home for the summer.

Enhancing it’s popularity, Magaluf is a mere 2 hour flight from the UK (meaning flights are less expensive). If you think the flights are cheap, just wait until you see the drinks deals! Between fishbowls, cocktail towers and open bars, you’ll not exactly be breaking the bank on a night out...

What type of people get jobs in Magaluf?

A typical Magaluf worker is a sun seeker (temperatures can hit 30 degrees in the height of summer) that likes to party. The age range for jobs in Magaluf is all the way from 17 upwards, which is good to bear in mind if it’s your first time working abroad!

The majority of Summer Takeover guests travel solo, so if you’re nervous about heading out on your own don’t panic! Once you’ve secured your place you’ll be added into a private Facebook group, and given login details for our very own workers social network, SummerSphere, so you can get chatting to all the other guests before you go.

When is the best time to go to Magaluf?

Our dates run from May to June, but you can stay on for the closing parties - we’ll help you secure further accommodation when you’re out there. If it’s your first time working abroad, we recommend going out earlier, it’s easier to get your bearings when it’s a little quieter than to jump in at the deep end mid season!

What are the wages like in Magaluf?

One of the reasons this is such a popular resort to work a season in is because the wages in Magaluf are so high - it’s our best paying location. Average wages can be anything around €75 per day, that’s not including your tips or commission!

In peak season the right roles will easily take home over €100 per shift - with such cheap drink prices you won’t know what to do with all your money!

How many hours a day will I be working in Magaluf?

Hours and shifts will vary depending on your job of choice when working in Magaluf. Ticket sellers can expect to be out enhancing their tan on the job, whilst bar workers will obviously start later. The average shift is between 4-6 hours, this leaves you with plenty of free time to explore Magaluf’s amazing attractions, such as the Hotel BH Mallorca Waterpark, try your hand at karting or mini golf, and laze around on the beautiful beaches.

As the pay is so good and the shifts are so short, most of our Summer Takeover crew work every day to maximise their earnings. See our jobs tab for more information. Work hard, play harder...
