So, you want to work in Ibiza? Whether you're looking for a job in one of the island's many clubs or restaurants, or you're hoping to snag a position as a tour guide, there are a few things you'll need to do to make sure you stand out from the competition.
For starters, be confident! Show your potential employers that you know what you're doing, and that you're the best person for the job. Smile, have fun, and let your personality shine through.
Next, be willing to trial. Many employers will want to see how you work before they commit to hiring you, so be prepared to do a trial shift or two. This is also a great opportunity for you to show off your skills and impress your potential boss.
Finally, don't forget to consider the season. If you're hoping to work in Ibiza during the summer months, it's best to start applying for positions in early spring. That way, you'll have a better chance of securing your dream job before the season gets underway.
Our guests have to be 18 years old to work full-time in Ibiza, whether or not you’re an EU citizen. This makes sense when you think that a lot of the jobs going are in locations which serve alcohol.
Most of our guests are around this age so it’ll be all too easy for you to find like-minded people to make friends with during your stay.
As our most expensive resort to live in, this is reflected by the wages in Ibiza. In peak season you can earn more than €100 per day, work hard and you’ll be rewarded. Much better than picking up shifts in the local pub, no?
The average wage hovers at around €50 per shift - this is a great basic when you consider the potential of tips and commission on top... Time to turn the charm on then!
Cost of living is reasonable in Ibiza and you will find that the minimum wage is enough for your monthly allowances. Also, Summer Takeover will help with the funding of your social life. We offer our guests a whole range of generous discounts, such as wristbands for free or cheaper entry to clubs, or your name on the guestlist.
Our helpful staff can also recommend the best bars and restaurants for you to visit which offer cheap deals. You’ll find that a lot of the main tourist bars have higher prices, but with our suggestions of the more local hangouts, you’ll find that the prices are much lower.
Working in Ibiza is different from practically anywhere else in the world. The island has a long history of being a place where people go to party and relax. The music, dancing, beaches and sunsets make it a special place indeed.
The great part about working in Ibiza is that it’s suitable for all personality types. A lot of the time you’ll be working with other people, so an open mind and a willingness to meet new friends is always ideal.
Having the confidence to talk with strangers is great, but a working holiday is Ibiza is also a fab way to build these skills. A job in a bar, for example, is perfect for people who often feel a little shy to come out of their comfort zone and get chatting to people. Everyone on the party scene in Ibiza is warm, friendly, and very used to welcoming new guests, so you’ll never have a problem making friends and fitting in.
“The Season” in Ibiza refers to the most popular time of the year for tourists on the island. We start bringing our guests at the beginning of May, just as the season is kicking off. This gives you more of an opportunity to find the best job for you and meet new friends just as they are arriving too. Ibiza gets busier throughout the rest of the season, from May right through to September.
The party season in Ibiza is widely considered to be one of the best in the world. At this time of year, the weather is at its best and you can enjoy a summer of sun! It is also when most people flock to Ibiza for a season of partying. The clubs and bars have loads of special events going on and the combination of new mates, amazing club nights and perfect weather could make the best summer of your life.
