What to expect in zante

Zante is a little haven, with beautiful beaches and scorching dry heat. With a transfer time of only ten minutes, it’s certainly the most convenient resort. The time from stepping off the plane and relaxing with a cheeky cocktail is minimal!

With low prices and high temperatures, sun worshippers that want to get the most from their money should walk this way. As if that wasn’t enough, it’s our only resort with a turtle sanctuary - perfect fodder to ease a hangover.

Your First Week

Okay, its your first night in Zante so that call for one thing and one thing only…time to get messy. Starting with a 2 hour free bar in the hotel and then hitting some of the best (and cheapest) bars that the infamous Laganas strip has to offer before ending our night in Zante’s biggest club, Cherry Bay. Prepare yourself and remember its a marathon not sprint!

After a heavy night theres no better hangover cure than sunbathing around the pool with a ice cold cocktail. Recharge the batteries ready for a family meal in one of Zante’s best spots followed by one or two cocktails. Now that we have the first big night out of your system its time to get working on that dream summer job, so have a quiet one and make sure your up early.

Fix up, look sharp, this morning is all about securing that perfect job you have dreamt about! Remember you only get one change to make a first impression. After a long morning on the job hunt its time to continue the party. Once 2pm hits its time for Zante’s craziest pool party which is hosted in our very own hotel! The Paradise Pool Party needs no introduction!

Saturday

Its Saturday, our favourite day of the week. Today is about one thing… the biggest and best boat party to ever hit Zante. TIDAL is here (not for the faint hearted). A guaranteed sell out and a must do on the Zante party calendar. Its time for you to see what all the fuss is about! We’ll see you at Pure Beach Club. 5pm sharp!

After an action packed first few days its time to chill, nothing beats a Sunday pool day, pop the top off a corona sit back and relax. as the sun starts to set we light up the BBQ for an all you can eat feast the perfect way to cap off your first few days in the Zante sun. Once the stomachs have been line we its time to hit the MEGA PARTY at Cherry Bay.

For those who haven’t secured their perfect summer job just yet, Let’s get down to some serious graft, come meet the rep team at the pool bar at 12pm, from here we will have a list of all the jobs we have available and match you up to something that we hope is a perfect fit for you! Remember we can’t work miracles, so please attend if you are serious about finding that dream summer job!

What better way to finish your first week in Zante than hands down Zante’s biggest weekly event. Addicted at Pure Beach Club has played hosts to some of the biggest international acts. Past acts include Stormzy, Craig David, Tom Zanetti, J-Hus and many more. Tickets are usually €45 but Summer Takeover guests get an exclusive discount making tickets just €20!

Now your first week is over its time to settle down into the real Zante workers lifestyle. Hopefully you have now secured your dream job working in Zante, however if not please don’t hesitate to speak to your reps they are there to help you every step of the way. A role as a Holiday Rep working in Zante can be a great way to spend your summer. Your main duties will be taking care of guests during their holiday. This can include things like getting them to their accommodation and giving them all the information they need to have a great time!

WHAT TYPE OF PEOPLE GET JOBS IN zante?

Zante is an ideal starter resort for anyone that hasn’t worked abroad before. Typically drawing a younger crowd thanks to the cheap prices and happy go lucky vibe, you’ll find it easy to find jobs in Zante, get to know everyone and get to grips with island life. Zante workers are in really high demand, so you’ll find a job in no time.

The majority of Summer Takeover guests travel solo, so if you’re nervous about heading out on your own, don’t panic! Once you’ve secured your place, you’ll be added into a private Facebook group. You’ll also be given login details for our very own workers social network, SummerSphere, so you can get chatting to all the other Zante workers before you go.


WHAT TYPE OF JOBS ARE AVAILABLE IN zante?

Most jobs in Zante will revolve around the nightlife, such as bar work, beach parties, ticket selling etc. If you fancy your chances at being able to make some decent commission, selling shots or balloons are definitely the way forward. When is the best time to go to zante?

Early Zante workers are our first guests to head off. Dates run from April to July, but you can stay on for the infamous closing parties - we’ll help you secure further accommodation when you’re out there. If it’s your first time on a working holiday, we recommend going out earlier - it’s easier to get your bearings when it’s a little quieter than to jump in at the deep end mid season!

WHAT ARE THE WAGES LIKE IN zante?

The average wage when working in Zante is between €30-50. This is absolutely plenty when you consider that a beer or a vodka will be around €3 and Zante measures are generous!

Remember, this doesn’t include tips and commission, so turn up the charm and you’ll have more money than you know what to do with.


HOW MANY HOURS A DAY WILL I BE WORKING IN zante?

Hours and shifts for jobs in Zante will vary depending on your job of choice. Our ticket selling guests can expect to be out enhancing their tan on the job, whilst bar workers will obviously start later. The average shift is between 4-6 hours, which leaves you with plenty of time to go on a turtle spotting excursion, visit the waterpark, or go for a round of mini golf!

HOW DO I FIND JOBS IN zante?

Don’t worry, you won’t have to trawl the strip with a batch of CVs to find a job in Zante. The beauty of working holidays with Summer Takeover is we do all the legwork. Our dedicated team of reps will help you find a job just like they have done with the thousands of workers in previous years.

Not only can they provide detailed information about all the bars, clubs, restaurants and events that are recruiting staff, they’ll make sure you know when recruitment days are on and will get trial shifts setup on your behalf. All you have to do is show up, and put in a good shift!

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I ARRIVE IN zante?

Our reps will meet you at the hotel to get you all settled in to working in Zante. This is when the party begins - treat this first week as the holiday part of your working abroad experience. Between welcome meetings, Summer Takeover bar crawls, epic boat parties and sightseeing you won’t have a spare moment!

We’ll begin proceedings with a good old knees up - you can get to know your fellow workers and plan anything special you want to do in the welcome week. Between a CherryBay weekender, Rescue Club and Pure BeachClub, you’ll be able to suss out your favourite spots. When you’re ready to shake off the hangovers, we can explore Laganas beach, and all the other beautiful sights Zante has to offer...

By day six, you’ll be starting into your job trials, get the champagne on ice as you should be celebrating an offer by that evening! Congratulations, you’ve officially been initiated into worker life; time to make the most of working in Zante and #LiveTheDream.


WHAT HAPPENS AFTER MY FIRST MONTH WITH SUMMER TAKEOVER?

After the initial 28 days of working in Zante, you’ll have the option to extend your stay in our accommodation at a discounted rate, or our devoted reps can assist in finding alternative accommodation if you’d prefer.

Visas & Work Permits

If you are an EU national and/or hold a passport issued in an EU country you will likely not need to concern yourself with a work permit/visa however we would always advise you to check this prior to travel. If you are unsure of your right to work or have any questions about the process, please reach out to us.
